CAMPING & KAYAKING RIGHT ON THE NEW RIVER. We are nestled between Independence & Galax, VA easy to get to on Hwy 58. We offer 30amp FHU, tent sites and Bunk houses. Kayak, tube and canoe rentals. Ride our shuttle up the river and enjoy a relaxing float back to your camp site. Our FHU sites are Big Rig Friendly. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Pets are allowed,

Policies

GENERAL POLICIES AND WAIVER

  • CHECK IN/CHECK OUT: Check in is at 2:00pm or later. Check out is 12:00pm. If no one was in the site the night before early arrival can be possible.
  • QUIET HOURS: 11 pm to 8 am. Please be respectful of your neighbors.
  • PETS: Pets are welcome but MUST be on a leash at all times. You are responsible for your pet and any mess they may create. Excessive barking will not be permitted. There will be no tolerance for aggressive pets in the campground of any size. You will be asked to leave immediately, and NO refund will be issued.
  • GARBAGE: All garbage must be placed in dumpster. Please do not leave open garbage cans/bags at your campsite at any time to avoid attracting wildlife.

PLEASE DO NOT THROW CIGARETTES ON THE GROUND

  • GOOD HOUSEKEEPING: Please keep site clean of trash and leave site in the same condition you found it.
  • SEWER: Please only use RV toilet paper.
  • ELECTRIC: Site is only 30 amp, Please bring a 50 to 30 amp adapter. If you have two AC units please only use one.
  • BATH HOUSE: Please clean up after yourself. After shower, clean any water on floor.
  • RESPONSIBILITY: You are responsible for the supervision of your children and guests at all times.

CAMPING WAIVER:

I understand the rules and rental conditions upon which I am renting accommodations, equipment and using the rest of the associated property … lodging and camping and use of the swimming/bathing facilities. The sole responsibility for my safety lies with me. In agreeing to this, I acknowledge that outdoor and water activities and exposure to the natural elements and animals can be dangerous and sometime result in injury and even death. Water facilities contain inherent risks, animals and insects can threaten and infect or injure, exposure to the elements can cause hypothermia, sunburn, among other risks inherent in participating in camping, outdoor and water activities. Alcohol and/or drugs do not mix safely with any outdoor activity.

I certify that I am over the age of 18 (and assume responsibility for those in my charge under the age of 18). I hereby assume all legal responsibility for bodily injury to myself or any other person and property as a result of my visit to the New River Bridge Family Campground and use, operation or possession of equipment hired or loaned to me. Acknowledging this, I accept complete responsibility for myself and the minor children in my charge and visit the New River Bridge Family Campground and associated properties and engage in activities or events at the New River Bridge Family Campground at my own risk.

I will abide by the rules and accept the rental conditions:

  1. The property I rent will be returned in the same condition in which it was rented, and I will be responsible for all damage or loss that occurs during my rental period.
  2. I agree to hold harmless and to indemnify the New River Bridge Family Campground and its directors and officers, against all loss, damage, expense and penalty on account of personal injury or property damage to the undersigned or to any minor child or children in the charge of the undersigned, howsoever rising, whether by act or acts or failure to act of the employees or animals of the said company or not.
  3. I acknowledge receipt of the property in good order and condition and further agree that the New River Bridge Family Campground and its board of directors, officers and staff shall not be liable for consequential damages of any kind or nature from whatever cause arising, whether property or equipment is loaned or rented.
  4. I enter into agreement freely with the New River Bridge Family Campground at my own risk, acknowledging the risks inherent in outdoor and river activities and assume any and all responsibility for myself and the minor children in my charge.
  5. All parties agree to and will comply with Federal, State and County pollution laws and any other applicable laws and regulations.

In the event that i participate in watersports during my stay: I acknowledge that water activities such as canoeing, tubing & kayaking, could result in physical injury or death. I understand that the enjoyment and excitement of adventure and water activities is derived in part from inherent risks. I understand that such risks cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. I also understand and acknowledge that failing to use or properly use assigned safety type equipment such as personal flotation devices and/or my failure to follow instructions increases my risk of injury or of not surviving an accident or incident while doing a water related activity. The inherent risks associated with the related activity in which I are about to participate include, but are not limited to: sustained rigorous activity or paddling that may be mentally and physically stressful, encountering whitewater rapids and changing water flows and the possibility that I will be jolted, jarred and bounced ; it is possible that I could be injured if I come in contact with paddles or other equipment necessary to the operation of the water or land activity; I recognize its possible that loss of control of the canoe, tube or kayak could occur resulting in collision with other watercraft ,rocks ,branches, bridges, etc., and capsizing or sinking ; canoes, tube or kayaks are slippery when wet and are unstable so that I could slip and fall out. I may become disoriented, panicked and/or experience trauma from rocks, boulders, etc ; accidents can occur getting on and off or into canoes, tubes, & kayaks; I’m aware that sun exposure could cause sunburn, dehydration, heat exhaustion or heat stroke, or fatigue. I expressly acknowledge that the use of drugs and alcohol during any or all of the activities associated with or provides by NRBFC is done at my own peril and is not condoned, encouraged or excused by NRBFC in any way. I understand and expressly acknowledge that I have responsibilities, including the responsibility for my own safety while participating in any or all of the activities associated with or provided by NRBFC. I also acknowledge that I have the responsibility to inspect any and all facilities or equipment to be used and to immediately advise NRBFC of anything which I consider to be unsafe or to refuse to participate. I acknowledge that NRBFC is not a "Common Carrier" but rather is in the business of providing boating/floating and other recreation activities. Transportation to and from activities is incidental to the activity. Transport car, bus, or van travel in some instances may be provided by NRBFC and/or NRBFC employees and may involve errors in judgment by NRBFC or staff operating the vans, buses, cars, or other type transport vehicles.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION POLICY: One night stay is required for all reservations. Balance is due on arrival of your stay. Reservation maybe canceled up to 14 days before your arrival date. A $15.00 processing fee will be deducted. 13 days to 2 days camp credit will be offered to use at a later date. 1 day or “NO SHOWS” will not be refunded. If booking on a HOLIDAY WEEKEND no refund will be offered only camp credit. Please call if you need to cancel.

REFUND POLICY:

No refunds or credits will be made for early departure once you have checked in.
