Dan River Campground No Longer Provides Any Type Of Tubing, Kayaking Or Canoe Trips/Services.
Check-In & Check-Out Times
Check-In (Monday ~ Saturday): 1PM until 7PM. No check-in's after 9PM.
Check-In (Sunday): 3PM until 7PM. No check-in's after 9PM.
Check-Out (Monday ~ Saturday): 12PM.
Check-Out (Sunday): 2PM.
Please check-out promptly, so other campers can check-in at the designated time.
The pet (dogs) limit is two. Please do not show up with more than 2 dogs or you will not be allowed to check-in.
Dan River Campground is located in a beautiful quiet area on the banks of the Dan River. Come and enjoy our idyllic campground in Rockingham County, North Carolina. We welcome all campers to come visit our campground.

Tent Camping (tent campsites cannot be booked online)
Tent camping is limited due to the amount of pop-up and other small towed “campers” (with no bathroom facilities) that are being booked. Camping with these type of campers is "tent camping" and it is challenging to keep our bath house clean & sanitary with so many people using the bath house. Sleeping in your vehicle is not "tent camping" and is not allowed. RV Campsites booked for tent camping will be cancelled. For large groups (scouts, church groups, etc) we have a primitive group tent camping area. For tent campsite availability & booking, please send us an email to: [email protected]

Check-In / Registration
Everyone entering the campground must stop at the office and register, including guests and vendors.

Golf carts, UTV/ATV (side-by-sides) are not allowed. If you are disabled or have a physical handicap, small wheeled electric mobility scooters are allowed. If you are in doubt as to whether your mobility device adheres to our guidelines, please call the office to ensure the device is authorized before you arrive at the campground.

Speed Limits
Speed limits are strictly enforced for safety and integrity of the campground. When you check-in, speed limits are clearly explained. No further warnings will be given to campers. If you are caught speeding, you will forfeit your camping privilege and be told to leave the campground immediately.

Camping Rates
RV rates are based on 6 persons per site and a limit of 8 persons per site. Extra guests (up to the 8 person limit) are $6 per day. Guests are defined as people who spend the night. There is no charge for day guests. A day guest is defined as someone who visits the campground between 9AM ~ 10PM.

Pets (Dogs) - Limit is 2 per campsite.
Guests are not permitted to bring dogs to the campground. The volume of dogs is already at a peak with just about every camper bringing a dog (or two) with them. Please let your guest know this.

Guests
Guests are welcome for daytime visits. Visitor hours are 9AM-10PM. There is a maximum of 6 registered campers & 2 guests for a total of 8 people per site. Day guests are not allowed to bring pets. If you already have two vehicles at your site, Day guests should inquire where to park with the office. If your site has the maximum number of people (8), day guests are not allowed to spend the night and must depart by 10PM.
Campground policies are enforced for the benefit of all campers and the integrity of the campground. The campground policies are not limited to the above list.

Campground water pressure varies between 45psi ~ 65psi.

Cancellation Policy

Reservations Booked For 7 Nights Or Less: No refunds due to inclement weather or early departure. If you need to cancel a reservation (and receive a partial refund) the cancellation fee is one (1) night. The fee will be based on the least expensive night booked during your selected dates. You must notify us by email 7 days or more before your check-in date to be eligible for a refund. If you cancel less than 7 days from your check-in date, you are not eligible for a refund or rebooking. If you need to rebook (change dates) a reservation you must notify us by email 7 days or more before your check-in date to be eligible for rebooking. Holiday & Special Event Weekends: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day Weekend, NASCAR races and Farris Park bike races are not eligible for partial refunds or rebooking regardless of when you cancel.

Reservations Booked For 1 Month Or More: Monthly / seasonal camping, require a 50% deposit in order to reserve a campsite. The 50% deposit is non-refundable. Before you commit to a monthly campsite, please ensure your plans are well thought out.

No Show: A "No Show" is defined as a party or person who does not show up on the check-in date or does not contact us to cancel. No Shows are not eligible for refunds or rebooking.

**We reserve the right to change your campsite in order to accommodate all campers. In some cases, you may be moved to a campsite with no sewer (we have a dump station behind the bath house, if needed) if you are staying 2 nights or less. We will attempt to notify you if such action is required before you arrive.
