Kawtikh is a quiet and private retreat-style park that promotes the perfect getaway for families, couples and individuals looking for a place to retreat from the hustle of the city and reconnect with nature.  As a private retreat-style campground, we do not allow ATVs, dirt bikes or loud parties.

On the shores of Hastings Lake, Kawtikh offers vacations from the city with lake front and private RV lots while still within a 20 minute drive of Sherwood Park.

Our lots are a 5-minute walk from Hastings Lake. Hastings is a migratory bird lake, and a premier a premier spot for bird watcher’s, host to countless species of birds. Great for kayaking, canoeing and sailing.

Policies

At Kawtikh, we are dedicated to ensuring each of our guests have a fun and safe stay. Terms & Conditions and Rules & Regulations are in place to ensure all guests can have such an experience. We would love for this to become your campground of choice over the short summer months, and encourage you to embrace the following terms and truly enjoy the opportunity to relax and reconnect here at Kawtikh.

Kawtikh is our Retreat. We ask that you be respectful of other campers and mindful of the sound volume arising from your site. As a Retreat, we do not allow parties, loud music or groups of campers. Violations of this policy will not be tolerated. Law enforcement will attend.

License and proof of insurance for seasonal unit must be given to the Campground Managers.

Quiet Time

Quiet hours are between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am Sunday thru Thursday and 11:00 pm and 8:00 am Friday thru Saturday. Please be respectful to your neighbours.

Gate Access

Key and code access to the gate is for the privilege and safety of our registered guests only. Do not give out the key or code to anyone i.e. delivery persons, friends, relatives, etc. The access gate to the campsite is to remain closed at all times for the safety of your and our guests. Visitors should park in the picnic parking area and will require their vehicle to be registered with the Campground Managers. The main gate at the road will be closed at 10:00 pm to 7:00 am daily. Please ensure all guests not registered to stay for the night are off the premises by that time.

Visitors

Site fee is based on double occupancy or one family (parents and dependent children) to a maximum of five people.

The Licensee will be charged:

$5.00 per person per night for overnight guests

Your visitors, who stay for the day or portion thereof, will be charged a gate admission of $3.00 for each guest (age 13 and up) payable on arrival or charged to your account. The Licensee is responsible for the action of all camping party members and any visitors to their campsite, consistent with the terms contained in this document.

Garbage

Bagged garbage is to be deposited in the Dumpster at the entrance gate to the campsites.

Recycling

Please use recycle bins beside the Dumpster for pop/beer bottles and cans.

Generators

Please limit generator usage between the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm. Be respectful of your neighbours and limit the length of time you keep your generator running to no more than a couple of hours at a time.

Speed

The speed limit is 10 km/h on all park roadways and will be strictly enforced. We are a family campground and we put the safety of our children first. Off road recreational vehicles (i.e. ATVs, dirt bikes) are prohibited within the campground. Please be respectful of our farming community neighbours and keep your speed down on the main road coming in.

Parking

One sleeping unit and two parked cars per campsite maximum. Extra vehicles should be parked in the overflow parking area near the gate. No parking is permitted in any vacant site or elsewhere outside of your site or the designated area.

Vacuum Service

The Licensee will be charged $18.00 for each pump-out for his/her RV and $23.00 for emergency pump-outs (non-scheduled days) and $38.00 for an end of season flush. The Health Department strictly prohibits the draining of anything from your RV onto the ground.

Pets

A maximum of two pets per campsite. Dogs and cats must always be contained or on a leash, under control and be cleaned up after. Pets are not allowed in public buildings or on the beach. Pets must be spayed or neutered. All pet owners shall ensure that their pet does not make excessive noise or disturb other campers. If we receive repetitive complaints about your pet, you will be provided one warning and then you may be asked to leave.

Alcohol

In accordance with the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Act, Consumption of Alcohol is Restricted to registered campsites. Liquor is prohibited on roads, in washrooms and any other public area.

Fires

Fires are allowed in designated firepits only. Please do not move firepits. Fires may be prohibited when the hazard is high. The gathering or cutting of wood, trees, shrubs or vegetation within Kawtikh RV Retreat & Campground is strictly prohibited! Split firewood is available for sale.

Smoking

Use of tobacco, marijuana or other products is prohibited in buildings and public spaces.

Firearms

The possession of firearms and/or other weapons at Kawtikh RV Retreat & Campground are prohibited. Possession and/or use of fireworks is also prohibited.

Vandalism

Any guest who willfully or negligently defaces, injures or destroys property or equipment of the campground shall be held liable for the full value thereof.

Site Condition

We want everyone to come and enjoy the peaceful and beautiful setting. In order for this to happen we need your help in keeping your sites clean and tidy.

Building

Any and all building i.e. sheds, fences, steps, skirting, decks or add-on rooms etc. Must be approved by the Campground Managers.

Default

Failure to comply with these terms or with the Terms of License shall entitle the Retreat to terminate this License immediately and without written notice. Upon termination the Licensee shall immediately vacate the campground, leaving the site in a clean and tidy condition. The cost to Kawtikh RV Retreat of enforcing this clause, including legal costs on a solicitor and client basis, and all costs of clean up, shall be payable by the Licensee as additional fees. Kawtikh RV Retreat shall not be required to make any refunds except for key and power deposits.

Responsibility

The Retreat bears no responsibility for loss or damage to any person, or property or thing and the Licensee indemnifies and saves harmless Kawtikh RV Retreat, its employees, representatives, owners, officers and agents, from any and all claims.

Termination

The Retreat reserves the right to terminate any seasonal site lease agreement in order to safely manage development projects on the site. Such terminations would occur after the fall shutdown, no earlier than September.  In such instances, we will provide a minimum of 30 days notice and reimburse the off-season fee (if reserved off-season storage). If you are unwilling to abide by these rules, we welcome the opportunity to introduce you to another campground in the area.

Terms

_The Licensee acknowledges receipt of a copy of the Terms & Conditions and Campground Rules & Regulations and that they have been read and understood. _Further, the Licensee agrees to comply with the Terms of License of Kawtikh RV Retreat.

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel within 72 hours of the first night, you lose full deposit of first night's stay.
